Squalane comes from Squalene, an oily substance produced naturally in the body. As we age, the amount of squalene our bodies make decreases, which is one of the reasons our skin gets dry. When squalene is hydrogenated, it becomes squalane—a friendlier and more absorbable form of squalene.
Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds onto water. The more water our skin stores beneath the surface, the plumper and softer it is.
