You have been asking for a refillable compact for a long time. Jane Iredale listened and went to work. Its taken a while to find the right design and the right materials so that Jane Iredale could truly realize the goal of nurturing the earth while we nurture ourselves. Apart from the need to have a beautiful compact, Jane Iredale had four things in mind for this new compact:
Sustainability, Durability, Refills, and Weight.
After experimenting with many different materials, Jane Iredale has decided that anodized aluminum meets the criteria. Anodizing has been called the green,or environmentally friendly finish in the metal finishing field for some time. The process releases few toxins into the environment, uses almost no heavy materials, and uses chemicals and metals that are recycled easily. Finished products made from anodized aluminum are nontoxic and can be recycled over and over again.
The new PurePressed Base compact design will accommodate refills, which will be packaged in plastic clamshells, manufactured from 100% recycled post-consumer material. View the New PurePressed Base Compact Refills.
To further reduce the environmental impact, Jane Iredale will be eliminating the cloth pouch, which used to hold the compact. But Jane Iredale has not sacrificed beauty.

The Refillable compact is not yet available in Butternut, Chestnut, Maple, Mink, or Terra. These will be available soon.
PurePressed Base SPF 18 is a concealer, foundation, powder and sunscreen all in one.

No oil, talc, FD&C dyes or parabens.

Light Diffusing, soft focus minerals with antioxidants.

On clean, moisturized skin, apply the pressed powder with our Handi Brush.

Apply in thin layers. Our bases are concentrated pigment so a little goes a long way.

Because the minerals reflect light, they have a much wider color tolerance than most makeup.
Apply on clean skin after moisturizer has absorbed with the Handi or Kabuki brush, or with included application sponge. Reapply after prolonged sun exposure, excessive perspiration or after towel drying. Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue if signs of irritation or rash appear.

Amazing Coverage!

This product was originally recommended to me by my makeup artist who does the makeup for local celebrities and for movie stars that are filming here in town. I was using liquid foundation at the time and was very skeptical about overall coverage. Once I tried it, I was hooked. The coverage is amazing. People have since commented on how great my skin looks - not realizing that I wear a foundation AT ALL. Because it is mineral based and light, it doesn't show the 'lines' you can sometimes get with liquid foundation (especially on warm days). Looks great in artificial or natural lighting. The Iredale makeup collection is something I now cannot live without. I highly recommend this product.
